Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Stand-in (standinai.com, “Stand-in”, “we”). By creating an account or using Stand-in you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.

Who can use Stand-in

You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Keep your login secure; you’re responsible for activity on your account.

Your videos

• You keep ownership of your recordings and your finished videos. You give us a limited license to process them only to provide the service.
• You may only upload recordings of yourself, or of people who gave you permission.
• Stand-in characters are fictional and depict no real person. We license them to you for use in your videos, including commercially. Characters you create with My Stand-in are for your account only.
• When you post, follow each platform’s rules for AI-generated content, including labeling it as AI where required. Don’t present a Stand-in as a real, specific person.

Plans and billing

• Subscriptions (Starter, Creator, Pro) renew monthly until you cancel. Cancel anytime from your account; you keep access until the end of the paid month. Unused monthly videos don’t roll over.
• Halloween bonus: until the end of October 31, 2026 (Pacific time), your first paid subscription gets 5 bonus videos (one plan bonus per account), and each wallet top-up of $25 gets 2 bonus videos and each top-up of $50 gets 5 (per qualifying top-up). Bonus videos never expire, have no cash value and aren’t refundable. They follow your plan’s length cap, or 30 seconds on pay as you go. What each plan includes may change, with notice.
• Extra videos you buy never expire while your account is open.
• Wallet (pay as you go): wallet funds pay for pay-as-you-go videos and add-ons at the prices shown before you confirm. Funds never expire while your account is open, have no cash value, and aren’t transferable.
• Add-ons (captions, voice swap, HD, long clips) are charged per video unless your plan includes them.
• Prices are in US dollars and may not include applicable taxes. We may change prices for new purchases with notice; sale discounts are honored as described above.

Failed videos and refunds

If a video fails to render, it never counts against your plan and any wallet amount for it is returned to your wallet automatically. Because each video costs us to make, completed videos, subscription periods and wallet top-ups are otherwise non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If something went wrong, email support@standinai.com and we’ll make it right where we reasonably can.

What you can’t do

No impersonation of real people, sexual content, content involving minors, harassment, fraud, misinformation designed to deceive, or anything illegal. The full list is in our Acceptable Use Policy. We may remove content, refuse renders and suspend accounts that break these rules, without refund for the violating use.

Our service

AI results vary, and we can’t guarantee a specific look in every video. Stand-in is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. We may change or discontinue features. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Ending your account

You can delete your videos at any time and close your account by emailing support. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

General

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. We’ll notify you of material changes by email or in the app. Questions: support@standinai.com.
